Whats Up...
What up, I live in MD and am 17 years old. Im on my last year of high school and just recently bought my 1990 Viper Blue Ford Mustang GT. I bought it off some lady who lived near me and loved the car as soon as i saw it. I pretty much liked the fact it had a 5.0 engine and it would kill all my friends imports =) Ill post some pics later so you can see her. I think its a pretty nice first car and I love it.
glad to have you join the forums. my '88 GT is a blue one too! don't be telling me the lady only drove to church on Sundays, that would be too unreal! how many miles does it have on it? what did you pay for it? make me jealous, I paid $17,000 for my '88 new!
Hey, keep in mind that importer's love to beat mustangs. And yes some of them can. I have a friend with a CRX which is completely stripped, I mean completely, no dash and he swapped a larger motor in it. He loves racing American muscle. Alot of times he wins. But, dollar for dollar you will be ahead of the game when it comes to modifications. If a turbo charged honda with a certain amount of boost races a turbo charged mustang with a similar setup who's gonna win?
so do I! my first car was a '54 Mercury that my brother and I bought from the couple who my grandma lived with. had a V-8 and auto trans. paid all of $50 for it and it was fun to have-did some of my first mechanical learning trying to fix the vacuum operated windshield wipers on that ol lead sled. wish now we had kept it, it would be a collector's item for sure!
For real, lets talk about the baby blue n/a crx that is/was owned by M&R motorsports out of leonardtown, Md running 8's in the 1/4. I havent been back to Md in 2 years so I'm not sure if they still have it or not.

I don't know anything about that particular car. I know there are some really fast NA imports. But that whole front wheel drive thing sucks. I like anything that goes fast but I'm a little biased when comes to Fords. What really ticks me off is people who act like nothing can beat the brand they own. That's ridiculous. Imports weigh half as much as we do so they can get away with half a many cylinders.
yeah but they have to wind the hell out of those 4 hole rice burners in order to make any decent power where a good old American V-8 makes its power down low where you need it on the streets going stop light to stop light. take a look at the published HP and torque numbers and you'll see the difference right away! besides that, most rice burners sound like chain saws on steroids, while a V-8 has that pleasant deep throated roar that doesn't offend the ear drums! V8's rule!
Do you know how much money it takes to get a rice in 8's? well i know i don't,but im sure it more than the car is worth! i know i could get my stang in the 10's easy! there fart pipes are just as much as my exhaust and they only get what 8hp lol
