hi my name is chris and i am 21 and own a 68 mustang and 68 torino and 53 oldsmobile.I am going to sequioa institute to follow my passion in cars and will have ny own hot rod performance shop of my own little bit up the road.Right now i'm trying to determine what i'm going to put into my 68 stang i was thinking a 4.6 or 5.0. I have already had a 289 into it but over the years that thing has stressed me out more times than i can think of.Mostly running when i would travel across the us with it and it would leave me stranded several times.I would love to have reliability, horsepower,and most of all gas mileage but i have never heard of anyone putting a 4.6 into a classic i think it would be a challenge.Plus the 4.6 seem to like those superchargers alot.On the other hand 5.0 i've seen people swap thease things in to 65s but i've heard that there only certain years you can interchange parts with so i'm really iffy about that.
if anybody wants to put there opinion down i would appreciate it thank you.

 

FYI. the 289 is basically a destroked 302. You shouldn't have any problems putting a 5.0 in if you want.
