Default whoamI

Hide the women and children! Lock the garage! There is an interloper here! My handle is moparist because I build mopars. Had to sell some mopar muscle due to a divorce and now I'm re-emerging with a 47 Plymouth tudor sedan. So, you ask, Why am I here??? I'm hoping to utilize a Fox Mustang front frame clip grafted on to the front of my 47. A friend of mine did this with his 1956 Studebaker station wagon and it makes a neat installation. Unfortunately, he used an 87 Stang front clip and kept the 9-inch brakes. I won't do that so I've been searching the wrecking yards and web sites for info to convert the Fox to 5-bolt X 4 1/2-inch pattern, 11-inch brakes. The article by Stangpower96 on this forum gave me a lot if info I was seeking. I have a few questions about the conversion and then I'll slither back into the night ... until I need to get parts. I'm not a stranger to Fords. I cut my teeth in high school on a '38 Ford Town sedan (4-door convert). It ended up with a 52 Merc flatty and 39 floorshift trans, hydraulic brakes and 15-inch Merc wheels. Fast forward to the early 80's and I bought a 52 Ford P/U which moved with me to WA but didn't come back with me. Next up was a 57 Ford Custom 300 tudor. I put on disc brakes, a 351 Windsor with the good 69 heads, a toploader 4-speed, louvered hood, 3-inch lowering blocks and a set of cruiser skirts. Later took off the blocks and skirts before I sold it. It had a primered flame paint job, wide whites and a set of 58 Caddy hubcaps. It would run with a 5.0 LX. I know because we ran side by side thru Memphis one Sunday. So, I hope you'll let me play with you guys for a while. Thanks. Barry Richard
