Whats up everyone i own a 1999 Cobra bone stock. I live in Miami, FL you know where thay filmed two fast two furious i have had this car for 4 yeas now and i love it but recintly i got my *** handed to me by a littel four weel drive import. when i first got it i woped up on alot of people but now not so much i am going to do some drastick changes to my Cobra in the next 2-3 week and i will keep you guys updated (PLESE LET MY KNOW IF YOU HAVE ANY SUGESTIONS FOR GETING MY CAR IN THE LOW 12'S THAT IS NOT A CARGER I CAN NOT AFFORD THAT THANKS)

like they were worse than the GT's or something?

Slicks, Exhaust, Gears, Pullies, CAI, Upper/Lower Manifold, Larger TB/MAF
Just saying what most people would probably say.

 

I always thought that the 99 cobra's were pretty much the same as the GTs back then. Maybe a bit quicker? I know that I smoked a 99 cobra here in Iceland which was much to my suprise. Getting in the low 12s will take some work for sure. I just wanna say welcome to the forums. You will get the right info from the peeps here. They are very informed on what to do....GL on your recent/future upgrades.

 

Yea, you gotta whatch out for those imports in South Florida. Those boys are into speed not rice. I used to live in Port St. Lucie and there was an extremely fast Integra. Not to mention those old Toyota sedan things (don't know what they're called). They put a turbo on'm and there nothing to play around with.

 

My girl and I are thinking of moving to Lakeland Florida in July, hopefully I will have most of my mods done so I can start spreading Rice like confetti on all the highways and interstates of Florida with ya Cobra.

As for mods a stock 2000 or 2001 GT with just a supercharger and exhaust will run 11.9 in the qtr ( saw it in Mustangs and Fast Fords ) Just wish I had a little change to spare for that myself

Since nobody really answered this question, 99 cobras had 316 hp not the claimed 320 and they had minor intake and exhaust problems, which is why they stopped production in 00 and gave us the 5.4 R model and fixed the cobras for 2001 editions... They also did not produce 2002 Cobras, as they developed the under-rated hp of the 03 and current supercharged cobras! =400 hp w/ a 6 speed! Anything else????
