Hey there! First off, nicely done going with the convertible. My g/f recently got a car that's a convertible and it's a lot more fun to drive around in then I imagined it would be.

Unfortunately, I don't know what a PCM is. What does that do?

i was told by the service department that it is the main computer controlling the tuning i think he called it the PCM... he said there aren't any on the market as of now and that production for mine will take time.. i think they are full of sh**...

Dude! How hard does THAT suck? It's brand new and still under warrantee. How can there be ANY component to car the that manufacturer can't replace? That just doesn't make any sense at all. Two things that come to mind right off the bat - First, will this problem cause damage to the car because it's not running properly that's going to bite you in the @$$ down the the line? Second, I'd write to Ford direct and see if you can get something done by barking at some corporate people...or at least get some info.

My fear in buying a 2005 was that it was the first year for the new model and I was worried that they hadn't worked out the kinks. So far the only problems I've had with it is that I had to replace the weather strip on the roof because it was starting to come loose and also every time I wash it, it seems to rain. Great pic by the way...I gotta get a hold of a digital camera one of these days.

Way ahead of ya guy.. wrote ford today. it has been three weeks since i took it in.. I think in Ohio it is considered a lemon if they have it over a month..but it cannot be drivable. They told me today that I can drive it till they get the part it will just be sending out false misfire readings and run like crap. they gave me a fully loaded 2006 taurus to drive and i hate it.. too much like a family car made for old people...

thanks but the car is silver with black stripes...lol... i am looking for other reasons the PCM would be sending out misfire signal.. I have read about emissions codes but not sure if that would be it. I've also heard of bad fuel mixture could cause this,,, if they wait and change the pcm and it still has the problem..then what? I am trying to get another car.. I have only had this one 3 months..I feel cheated because I traded in a 2002 f150 with only 18000 miles on it....they won't even talk lemon. anybody have any ideas they would be most welcome.. Thanks
