Hello Everyone
Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself and my "project" to everyone.
Project
I purchased my 1968 coupe in August of '96 during my Junior year of High School. I drove it all during my Senior year, and then had the bright idea of tearing the engine apart to do a "rebuild". I'm sure there are plenty of people on this forum that have started a project with a defined timeline, only to see either scope-creep, or timeline extension. Needless to say, I have yet to put my mustang back together. In fact, I've even taken it further apart by removing all glass, doors body panels, seats, carpet, dash, electronics, transmission, etc. I have also purchased a 5.0-liter engine from a '94 GT mustang, which I have half-way rebuilt to put into my car. I've also purchased the leather seats from a '95 GT mustang (front and back) that I plan to custom-fit into my car. I picked up a Tremec T-5 transmission that is brand-new and was originally produced for a '93 Cobra "R" mustang. I also have a PST suspension kit that needs to be installed along with a sub-frame kit from Total Control Products.
Steps to Completion
1. Finish bodywork
2. Get car painted
3. Finish engine rebuild
4. Install custom dash (JME panel with gauges)
5. Install carpet & custom-fit seats
6. Upgrade to disc-brakes
7. Install new suspension system
8. Plan next upgrade
(Like it will ever go this easy...)
So if anyone knows of a good resource for putting a late-model Fuel-Injected Engine in an early-model mustang, that'd be great!
