Just saying hello...
Hello everyone, my name is Dan and I just bought my first Mustang. It's a black 2002 GT/auto.
I've spent the last 3 years owning a 1997 Dodge Avenger, and it was a beautiful, well-handling car. However, Daimler Chrysler really dropped the ball when they decided on the powerplant for those cars (2.0L I4 auto and manual or 2.5 V6 auto tranny only). My Avenger was pushing 100k miles and I wanted something a bit faster and a lot smoother. SO, I turned to my first love: the Mustang.
I didn't start loving cars until I saw my first Mustang at the Ford dealership in August 1994 (I was 12). Ever since then I've wanted one, and I finally broke down and bought one this week. So far I love it. It's really hard to find a Mustang around here that isn't a V6, so I was pleasantly surprised to find a GT that was only a couple of years old. The car runs great and is a real head turner. I hope I have many years to enjoy it.
This is the first time I've been a nOOb at a car forum for over 2 years. I was/am a long-time poster at www.asog.net , and it's a weird feeling to a newbie again. I hope I can learn a lot from your experiences, and hopefully the modding bug won't bite me too hard.
This looks like a great club, so thanks for having me!
