I have had my white '06 V6 for 4 weeks now. Picked it up on a Friday and was back at the dealer on Saturday with transmission issues. At times it would pop out of first when starting from a standstill. Also it was hard to shift into 5th and would pop out of 5th. The service manager took it for a ride and confirmed to me what I thought - transmission issues. Brought it into the shop on Tuesday and picked it up on Friday with a new transmission. The original tranny was machined incorrectly. They provided me with a loaner car, gave me a full tank of gas when it was empty and I have vouchers for 2 free oil/filter changes. I was impressed with the dealers handling of this situation.

Now on to the car itself. It's just the basic V6 with 5 speed. They only had 2 manual transmissions in stock in V6. I went with white as I don't care for silver.
I love this car. The more I drive it the more I WANT to drive it. It handles great. Is it me or do there seem to be more SUV's, mini-vans and large trucks on the road going slow now than before?

I am interested in getting a cold air intake system, black box ( sorry I can't remember what it's called- for resetting the factory settings to increase hp and hopefully gas mileage) and also interior accessories (dashboard kits, etc).

I have read postings on several cold air intake systems but not sure which way to go.

Any help/advice is much appreciated.

I think you were thinking of a tuner for the computer. That and a free flowing exhaust should give you more power and a little better mileage

 

Yes, a tuner. Thanks, I know what it does but couldn't come up with the word for it.

Any recommendations on brand, I've read postings on several, of course there are pros and cons.

I bought a 2005 V6 Auto Premium - Torch Red/Red Crimson Interior last June. I love it. Never had a major problem besides small clips, also trim above the passanger door. We took it to Nashville,TN from Wilkes-Barre,PA this past July ran great. I was excited in the beginning when I got it too. I would say to my wife," Don't we need bread? I think I will go get a loaf." Then you hhave people yelling to you,"Hey nice car!" "Cool car!" "You must have a good job". I would then yell back ,"Nice payment book too." or "Thanks". I still get people yelling nice things to me. I still love to drive it. But I am very cautious when I am out in the Stang. There are lots of jealous and rude people out there. I watch where I park my Stang.

I am waiting to payoff my Stang before investing anything into it.. I have under 5 years left
