Newbie here
Hello all. Nice forum. I've been browsing it for a bit after finding it. After seeing there is not big Ford/Chevy flamewars I decided why not? Anyway I'm 28, have 2 kids, , a Federal Correctional officer and hot rod enthusist that loves the rumble of a nice V8. I drive a 2000 Z28. Its my daily driver and I live about 50 miles from work so I see over 100 miles a day in it (138k miles in 4 years!). Alright enough about the boring part, on to the rides. My Z28 is a stripper model (only rear defroster 3606 lbs with 3/4 tank and myself-205 lb), auto, 2.73 geared from the factory and arrest me red. Mod wise so far I have SLP lid, SLP 1.85 rockers, K&N, Smooth bellows, Home Ram Air, and ported throttle body, all other free mods, True duals with flowmaster 1 chambers (yes its loud!), gutted cats, UMI LCA's and PHR, Subframe connectors, poly bushings, poly end links, KYB adjustables, WS6 springs (much firmer!) Slotted/drilled rotors, ceramic pads, ZR1 17x9 & 17x11 rims with 315's out back, Custom tinted windows, Black billet grille, Debadged save for a Z28 3rd brake light. The wife's and "family mover" is an 05 F-150 all stock for now till warranty runs out. So far best to date time in the Z is 13.2@107.1 with a 2.10 best 60 ft (extremely traction limited). With a set of DR's I'm confident I can hit 12's we'll find out next season!
