Default Hello all

Hello all, Im a newbie to the v8 world, and Im ready to learn about the 4.6 liter or 5.0 Mustang motors...my father was telling me that I should get a 390 for a project car, but I'm not sure....I'm in the market for a GT 99-04 year, and I dont have my car yet, but I wanna learn before I get the car and i'd atleast be able to understand what most V8 owners talk about lol...but my question is this. What would be some cheap mods to start off with..maybe a "chip" or somethin?? cause i've driven a z28 93-97 Camero's but I've never driven a Mustang...so what would be the best mod for a person whos a beginner in the V8 world?

Best new mods for ANY car is gears and exhaust, a 4.6 is a good choice, much wiser than an old 390 FE motor, since parts are rare and cheap for em. If your looking for a car to do major work to, then a 5.0 would be a good choice, otherwise stick to a 99+ GT

welcome aboard. suspension wise, Steeda, Griggs Racing, Maximum Motorsports, Eibach, Koni, KYB, any of the big names are good. chips are alright, but you get the exact same thing with a fuel pressure regulator and upping the timing. same thing pretty much. either way, good luck on finding a ride and let us know what you get when you get it

Welcome to the forum. RWHP on a 99+ GT may be around that... I think it is actually a little less than that though. I'll leave that up to the more knowledgeable people like Mdvaldosta to give you a more definite answer on that one.

Ahh, ok...um I have a question, I would like my GT to look good, are the Body kits worth having...saying the Jack Roush kits? or are there front lip kits or anything of that nature?
