My Rides
Hi from Australia and hi to Ralph and thanks for looking at my web site and sending me a message.
As regards to what Mustangs I have, my current favourite is my 1984 GTHO Convertible with a five speed box. This machine has been converted to right hand drive as well as a colour change to Ford Monza Red. This goes quite well with its white interior. I also have a 1966 Springtime Yellow convertible. This machine is still left hand drive as it is over 30 years old and able to be registered in Australia. My next one is a 1979 notchback that I am currently giving a ground up restoration to. This machine has been converted to right hand drive and currently is powered by a V6.
I am the coordinator for the Gold Coast Chapter of the Mustang Owners Club of Australia. We currently have just over 60 Mustang owners resident here on the Gold Coast of which 35 are members. Overall we have around 350 members in the State of Queensland and about 1500 members Australia wide. It must be remembered that Mustangs are not sold currently in Australia by Ford which means we usually take a trip over to your side of the world and bring them back by container. Most Mustangs that make it to our shore are usually given a ground up resto as well as adding a lot of mandatory Australian safety devices, this is why it can cost us up to $20000 to get it on the road in standard format. An expensive hobby.
