Newbie with a 66
Hi all,
I just got my 66 in Feb 07. This is my first project like this and I am having a blast. I have already dug into it pretty good. The 289 engine is out and 90% rebuilt. I bought a T5 to throw in there and the rearend is out to put a posi 3.55 in. I have learned more about cars in the last few months than I have in my entire life. Before Feb, I couldn't tell you what 3.55 gears meant, much less what kind of effect they would have on a car. I would recommend a project like this to anyone. But it is important to know what you are getting into. Before I started this project, I did a ton of research (cost, time, etc.). For the most part I have stayed on budget.I have taken my time with everything just to make sure it is right. I will post some pic when I get closer to being finished.
Before I go, I want to say that one of the thingsthat has made this project so great is the support of fellow mustang owners and mechanics. I could not do it without all of the technical help. So, thanks for all of the help so far and thanks for all of the help in the future. You never know one day, I might be the one giving the advice.
