Default First day at the track

Hello everyone, my name is Andy. I'm a frame and body tech and I love to race. I was a Volkswagen guy for some 10 years or so. My father started taking me to the drag strip when I was just little. I began building and racing small time around age 20. (I raced volkswagens) Ok, jump forward, I work at a Ford dealership and I had the chance to buy any sports car within a $60K price range. I took around three months to make my decision and I test drove a Mazda RX8, a Honda Civic Si, a Subaru WRX STi, a Corvette, a Mustang, a Nissan 350Z and a VW R32. I based my decision on whether or not I wanted to pull an Import out of my garage for a Sunday drive when I'm 50+ years old. And honestly, if you really really want to go fast in the quarter mile, Detroit muscle is the way to go. Besides, my father raised me a Mopar/Mustang lover. However, when I ordered my new 07, all Black, Mustang, I wasn't all that crazy about it. Heck, when I wrote the check, I hadn't even driven the car yet. (or any Mustang for that matter) So my 'stang was delivered and I ordered a BBK throttle body, BBK cold air intake, MAC axle back, and a Hurst short throw. I put all this stuff on while it was still at my dealership with plans to take it to the track the following Saturday. (Oh yea, Steeda underdrive pulleys are still being shipped) So now it's race day. These were my two runs:
1/4 14.7 14.3
R/T .064 .099
60ft. 2.56 2.25
Top speed 100.15mph 1007.34mph.

I didn't miss any gears but I spun like hell through first and a little of second. And I never got out of third.
I'm completely in LOVE with this car now and I had a blast racing, but I was hoping for the 13 second range. The pulleys will be on this week and I'm ordering drag radials tomorrow. For all who read, feel free to comment back. I looking foward to talking with you.
