<FONT face=Arial>Im in the market, finally, for a car that is better than an Accord...and have settled on an 87-93 notchback. which is the lighter car, the LX or the GT? Im'a be turning the car into a dedicated road-racer and could use a few hints.</FONT></P>

A notch will be the LX. I would most def. get the notch, if you can find one in good condition for a good price.

Hell yeah man, get a notch. Stock to stock, the LX is faster than the GT, but not by much. Just a little weight difference. Also, look for a 89-93 if you can, because those are the mass air 5.0's.

I say 89 - 92, in 93 Ford did away with the factory forged pistons.
