Obviously, by my username, I am not an owner of a Mustang... yet.
However, I have the chance to pick up an 89 LX Hatch 2.3L for around $1500.
It needs a tranny and the motor has 140k miles on it.
My question to you guys is after I order a transmissionWHAT exactly would I able to do with ... a lot of mod money. (Around 9 - 11k)
I would want to either swap an LS1 or a '03/'04 Cobra full drivetrain. Obviously beef up the brakes. New wheels and tires. Suspension work. Paint and appearance. And a bunch of other stuff...
I'm new with Mustangs and have no idea on prices, but I realize it'll end up being more than I expect it to be. (Just like everything else).
My question is, what would it cost to actually make it functional and to have it running at least13s or 14swithin a month of purchase? And how easily could this be achieved?
