Howdy from Canada
as of tomorrow, i will be the proud owner of a 1983 mustang convertible. but heres the story of this car:
it was originally going to be used for the movie "Romeo Must Die" in Vancouver, Canada. However, it never made it past to the final movie
the mustang was orginally a 2.4 litre 4 cylander, but they put in a V8 5.0 litre high output (with dual exhaust). along with came a heavy duty clutch and fat tires with the pony rims. the engine was also converted from fuel injected to carburated with a 750 carburator.
after that, it was sold to a guy in vancouver, with the price appraised at $10,000 (canadian). since then he added a few things like new rad, ect.
This car is the original black, with the original dark red interior. its in pretty good shape, though it will need a new top (by the way, it has a glass back window), the driver seat will need some sowing, but other than that, its awsome. and i got this all for $4100 (canadian).
the compression in 7 of the cylanders is 150, and the 8th is 155, so its almost perfect.
what im planning to do to this car:
new top
fix up the seat
speedometer conversion (so it goes up to 260-280 kilometers per hour)
stronger camshaft from brothers friend
newer generation front bumber from same guy
i'll also do a few other things to the engine, but i cant remember all.
anyways, i hope this forum works out, it looks great and active
