WARNING: 2005-2008
Do NOT...I REPEAT...Do NOT....use your E-brake during the winter months. Last winter I used my e-brake and it FROZE to my caliper when the temp was under 32 degrees. It was a humid, cold and windy day. I had to leave my car overnight and wait for the temp to go above freezing so I could move it. The next day, it was 42 degrees and everything was fine!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!

I love my garage too. ;-)
I drove my car to work and it froze while it was sitting at my office parking lot. Parking lot is on an incline, so i had to use my e-brake.....bad MOVE!!!

Well, wouldn't this be covered by TSB 06-5-4, Parking Brake Cable Freezing/Rear Brakes Dragging? Just wondering....

RE: WARNING: 2005 - 2008
I'm pretty sure this is a problem on any car in the winter, unless the entire cable is sealed because water finds its way into anything not sealed (and sometimes even then...) My dad laughed when I told him this was happening all winter to me because he's been there when he was younger and drove manual transmission vehicles and he told me to just put it in first and leave the brake off. Fortunately I have a flat piece of driveway to park on to really get away with that. I just kept cycling the parking brake to loosen it up and it freed itself every time after a minute or two of driving and braking and pulling the parking brake up and letting it down all the while. It was annoying though.
