Default NEED HELP! CHECK ENGINE LIGHT!

HI, i am new to this forum and you might be my only hope. I bought a 97' mustang V6 for my neice last year. I bought it from a private party. Looked Good, Ran Good, yea yea, well, later I took it to be inspected for State Inspection and the Check Engine Light will not light so I cannot get passed. I took the dash off hoping it was a bad light bulb. Not the case. My fear is that somebody (previous owner) nipped a wire from the Control Module (Where is it) so it would not light. I bought an OBDII scanner and there are several codes. I am happy to fix the problems but the fact that it is not getting to the dash is killing me! Any suggestions? Thanks, Mark

Welcome to the forum... You most likely will not get the answer to your question in the welcome section. Post it under the section that pertains to your car type and I'm certain someone can steer you in the right direction.

well, ima say if u have a voltage tester u should see if there is power to the bulb. their may be a short in the wire. and if they did cut it, u can find out this way too.
