Default New to Forum

Hello. I'm new to the forum, so bear with me. I recently purchased my midlife crisis car, an '03 convertible with the V-6 3.8L. Love riding around with the top down. I have a question : When I punch it from a standstill, the engine misses, and sounds like it is only running on 5 cylinders. This lasts for a few seconds. Since I am a new owner of a high tech car, is this normal (due to a 'rev limiter')?? If this is normal, will changing the computer chip fix this?? Thanks gwdusn
