Default 347 STROKER QUESTION

JUST BOUGHT A 347 STROKER KIT FROM EAGLE,INSTALLING IT IN MY FACTORY '89 BLOCK AFTER I INSTALLED THE CRANK AND RODS I NOTICED THE ROD BOLTS (ALL) ARE DANGEROUSLY CLOSE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE CYLINDER WALL.IS THIS COMMON?I AM TAKING FLAPPER WHEELS TO THE WALL AND SANDING THEM TO GET A LITTLE CLEARANCE.WHAT DO YA'LL THINK?THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT.-BILLY

you need to take a grinder and remove some matterial in those areas. make sure that you have at least 1/4" of clearance. the rods didnt hit on mine either, but they were very close. any deflection of the rotating assembly at high rpm would make for broken parts.

THANKS FOR THE WELCOME MAT. I DID TAKE A FLAPPER WHEEL AND GET THAT 1/4 INCH CLEARANCE,THANKS FOR THE INSIGHT. BY THE WAY YA'LL HAVE SOME BEAUTIFUL CARS,I'M STILL WORKING ON ENGINES,HAVEN'T GOT TO THE PAINT YET.ANYWAY THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR INPUT.-BILLY
