Default The Focus Owner

hey all,
now i know you guys are expecting me to say whats up and tell all about my new mustang, but i cant because i dont have one. my name is darryl and i have a 2008 ford focus sedan, so at least i got a ford right? a little bit about it, its half assed compared to a mustang. it has a 2.0L (half the base model mustangs engine) Duratec inline 4 cylinder that makes all of 140hp (almost half the hp of a gt and half the cylinders). when i tested it with a little over 1000 on the odo, it ran from 0-60mph in 9.1 secs and the 1/4 mile in 16.9 secs at 87.13mph (track was very cold; traction was hard to come by). no mustang indeed, but the way it handles is better than most of the competition with its real (not electric) power steering and independent suspension. i joined this forum because im a big fan of the 1999-2010 mustangs, i dont know much about older mustangs. ive never driven a mustang, never sat in one outside of an auto show, i dont even know any mustang owners! so i joined mainly to learn more and drool over some of the pictures and to finally know some mustang owners.

the focus is quite entertaining in twisties, even with the stock low rolling resistance hankook tires, so it sould greatly improve when i decide on a summer tire, 17" wheels, the H&R cup kit suspension setup, and add the rear sway bar. theres also a 3d carbon body kit in the works.

sadly i dont think colorado is a good home for a mustang as a primary car, it just snows to much there sometimes. i know how to get around in a rwd vehicle in snow but its just too much work sometimes so id get tired of it in the winter (the focus is amazing in snow; im not missing my jeep at all!)

what does a mustang drive like???
