was up, ive been a member for a while now but i never posted. this is the best mustang forum ive been too. ive learned alot from here. i have an 04 mustang v6. im thinking of buying an 04 gt or an older mustang. i just found out theres a guy selling a 73 mustang. i wanna buy the 73 mustang and restore it but i wanna know what you guys think about that as a daily driver.

heres the description for the 73 mustang. hes asking $2,800. do you think its too expensive, how much should i ask for it?

1973 mustang coupe 302 engine 5.0 litre runs good, but might need to replace rings soon.I had the heads done about 4 years ago and replaced the original intake manifold with an elderblock topped off with a holley 600 carburator.I've had the car for over 10 years and have receipts for all the work that's been done on it.the paint still shines, but there are some rust issues that need to be addressed.both doors have rust showing at the bottom and also on the right side of the door jam. There is also rust on the back window and around the trunk area. The floor boards are clean with no rust showing and the carpet is also in good condition. The interior is original with an aftermarket radio/cd player.
heres the pics

do you think with 8k i can have it in good shape and then in the future spend some more on it?

thanks for the welcome. do you guys think i should ask for $2,000. my parents dont want me to buy it but i told them that once its restored it will be really nice and that it is really rare to find a 1st gen mustang. the oldest mustangs ive seen around are the fox body mustangs so this is a rare opportunity. they keep saying that i can fix it up all i want but its still going to be old and have problems but i told them i was going to put in a new engine and transmission so it shouldn't have any problems. i was thinking of using the money ive saved to put in a crate engine and then i would sell my v6 and use that money to fix the rust and the paint and what ever else it needs. does that sound like a good idea?
