Hello from TX
I was an owner of a 1998 Mustang GT and traded it in last week. It was a good car. The engine had 120,000 miles on it and it always ran well, and looked pretty good most of the time. Then after a run-in with highschool students who weren't watching where they were going, I had to get it repaired. I replaced the hood with a cobra hood since I had to replace it anyway. That looked pretty good. I added x-pipes, K&N filter, high performance radiator, transmission oil cooler, 3.55 gears, etc. After 3 years though the paint started coming off the hood and it started looking like crap. The molding inside started wearing out too. The leather seats wore out and had holes in them. The top of the car was beginning to rust. The car was now officially an old car.
So last week, after considering every other option, I finally traded it in for a 2007 Roush Stg 2 (see my avatar). It was a demo car and had 8000 miles on it. I love it. It looks perfect to me, and the engine sounds like a symphony. It's funny... half the time I'm at a stoplight, someone wants to drag race me. So far, I always win. Hopefully I'll avoid the problems from before and keep this baby looking nice. With the coming regulations on car companies, I think we're seeing the final years of the American Muscle Car. So I want to hold on to it for as long as possible.
