Default Project Car

Hi everyone, I am Chris from Mobile, AL. This site was suggested to me by someone I just met. I recently purchased an 87 Mustang which has no engine or transmission. Some friends were going to help rebuild it with me, but work schedules have changed and now I am the odd man out. I have zero experience with cars and I mean zero. Currently I am saving to add on to my existing workshop to house the vehicle and the tools to work on it. I know I would like to have over 400HP in the car, but I am on a budget and time is not really crucial. A year or so to build it maybe two if I run into trouble. Just wanted to get some info on what I am getting into with this project and read up and learn some stuff. Mainly what parts I need to make this thing work, there are many I know. One thing at a time. I am not even trying to crawl yet, I am that new. I was not raised around cars, now 32, I want to learn. So over the next while I will be asking questions and asking more questions on the comments that I receive just because I do not know. So I will thank you in advance for your help and your patience.

Welcome, Chris from Mobile, AL...

Where are you at? My wife and I are originally from Mobile and all of our family still lives there...in the Sollie Rd/Cottage Hill area. My brother-in-law is still there and he has an 08 GT...here's a picture of it.

We live in Semmes, off Howells Ferry in Ponderosa. That is a nice ride. Perhaps one day I will have mine up and running and looking nice. Need it running so I can get it to the paint shop first, haha.

I know exactly where you are at. Do you ever make it to the Steak & Shake cruise-in's at Schillinger & Airport?
