Equal opportunity speed appreciator
Hi all,
As my sig indicates, I come from a line of import cars. Since I started with the Honda/Acura crowd, I used to hold the typical sentiments...V8s suck...there's no replacement for displacement except technology...blah blah blah.
Well, about 5-6 years ago I started to see the error in my thinking. Why limit myself to one segment? I mean, there has to be something said for cars that sound like the apocalypse started early when you fire them up (instead of a can of angry bees), and can deliver enough torque to bring the front tires off the ground.
Now, there's really nothing fast I don't appreciate. Even slow is great, as long as it's over boulders and up hills (I have a friend who's into Jeeping). I don't hold a brand or country of origin bias.
I come most recently from a 2001 Toyota MR2 Spyder. That was such a blast to throw into corners, and the guys over at spyderchat.com would probably ban my account for life if they knew I was here, but I'm sorry...there comes a time when I need more than 1.5 cubic feet of cargo room, and maybe even a back seat...and man, I thought Spyders were cheap to mod, I had no idea!
So now that's out of the way, I find myself in the market for an SN95 (yes, I've started doing my homework), manual (but auto's ok), modded GT or Cobra...something capable of at least double duty (hopefully HPDE and drag). I come with questions, but I'll start seperate threads for those.
Aaron
