New Swedish gearhead
Hi all!
My name is Kristian, 38 yo from southern Sweden
I´m new to this forum and new proud owner of a Mustang 89 GT. Have owned many US cars and mostly from 60`s and early 70`s. Everything from Buick Special -58 to more modern stuff like Caprice 9C1-95.
Got hold of my Mustang by coinsidence, saw an ad from a cardealer that said: Ford Mustang 2.0 5 speed for sale. And the price was low. The dealer was not to far away so i thought i could at least take a peek at it. I had my mind set on it to be a 2.3 given the low pricing, but to my great surprise it was a low milage and very close to mint 5.0 GT. Got the price down even further so there really wasn´t much to think about. The only thing that´s not stock is the rearend. It has a 3,73 gearing because a previous owner wanted to keep up with his neighbours LT1 Camaro. I am really happy about my little pony, never thought much of the model before and must admit i have always regarded them as a bit "girlie". Was i wrong? OH YES! I still dont think it´s good looking but as far as "bang for the buck" goes, fantastic! It smokes the tires half way through 3rd gear with no effort. Plan to keep it "as is" with the exception of a better breathing (LOUD) exhaust and a 75-100 shot on it for use on the local 1/8 drag strip.
