Another new guy
Hello everyone. I was in search of a nice Mustang forum so I can read up on the 2011 5.0 and I think I found it. I've been a Honda fan for a long time but I've grown tired of the traction issues that come with boosting the front wheel drives. (among other things, lol)
So recently I've been considering the 5.0, 370z touring/sport and the Camaro 2SS. I honestly can't decide but I really like the options Ford is offering with the 2011. I know this might sound a bit cheesy but I'm definitely leaning towards buying an American made car. (hey, if I can help one American keep their job then I'm going to do it)

Welcome, interesting you describe the cars you have for I too was looking at the SAME lineup ! I had a opportunity to buy an '09 Nismo with less than 2000 miles (Lemon Law Nissan buy back), great car but I oppted out. The Camaro, while well made has horrble visibility, a stupid retro gauge package (hell it was dumb back in '69 !) anemic looking wheels but oh yes a motor with lots of potential !
Well I've got my 5.0 and so far Love it !!

The 370z is gorgeous but it does have a few issues and I think it will draw a little too much attention. You're right about the Camaro, I HATE the gauges and it doesn't seem to have a nav option. From what I've read on some of the Camaro forums it looks like they have some rear suspension issues. Nothing major but I'm not looking to swap out every bushing and the trailing arms.
The 5.0 is definitely king and I'm leaning towards it more and more. I'm really looking for something that can serve a daily driver with gobs of power and be able to handle some road trips without too much discomfort. I'm 6'5 so head and leg room is important but not deal breaking.
I haven't been able to drive all of them yet. I'm waiting on surgery so I have to take it easy.
Welcome to MF from the Great White North!
I too was considering the new Camaro, but after a test drive, I decided on a Mustang, and a used one at that. I really wanted to like the Camaro, as I was (and still am) a big fan of the first generation F bodies, but the lack of visibility killed it for me. I am a tall guy too at 6'5". Headroom was not the issue. The way it felt when driving and looking out was the issue for me. I just could not see myself living with and driving that car on a day to day basis. I also drove the new 2011 Mustang GT, and absolutely loved it! Very fast, and with the best 6 speed manual transmission I have ever used. It shifted like a knife going through warm butter. Very smooth, and almost effortless. I have not driven the 370, so I can't help you there, but as you can tell, I really liked the new 2011 GT.
