Hello from Boston
Hey hey hey there everyone. Im currently driving an 07 cobalt LS, but i got it paid off and im looking to get a new 2012 mustang. I want the GT model, but living in boston the winters will be bad enough, not to mention it wont hurt the wallet as bad as the gt will when it comes to gas.

Welcome! Check out the mass regional section for meets and whatnot!
I'd get the stang, and use the cobalt as a DD!
Or look into a slightly used S197 one for considerably cheaper money. You could come to one of our meets to get a feel for the 05-09 style if you've never been in one.

Welcome to the board!
As for gas mileage, this is my own personal experience with my own 5.0 Coyote:
In my DD, I get around 22-23 MPG with some in city and highway speed mix.
But on straight freeway at ~70MPH, I have observe as high as 28 MPG average. Just this last weekend, on a 100 mile trip, I got 29MPG average.
But for a mix of highway and city, you can expect 22-23 MPG average out of your car.
