moving forward
I finally found a reputable tech. Thanks largely to your advice. I am getting Pypes cat back tomorrow and 3.91 gears. If I cut down my springs to lower the car, will I sacrifice ride quality? What r charge motion plates?I see it is common mod and cheap. Thanks from KY.

Welcome to the board!
The mod concerning charge motion plates are the delete mod for them; which basically removes them from upstream of the intake valves.
Charge motion plates are designed to add swirl and maybe some tumble in the incoming air so the fuel and air mix around a bit at low RPMs just prior to entering the combustion chamber.
I remember reading this elsewhere, but I cannot remember where; but I will quote it anyway:
"At the end of each intake runner was a new-to-Mustang feature Ford called a charge motion control valve. At low engine speeds and light loads, these specially shaped control flaps closed to speed the intake charge and induce a tumble effect in the combustion chamber. That caused the fuel to mix more thoroughly and burn more quickly and efficiently. At higher engine speeds, the charge motion control valves opened fully for maximum flow into the combustion chambers."
