Default Prospective Buyer

I'm currently a prospective buyer of a 2011/2012 v6 Mustang. Due to financial constraints, I currently drive a 1994 Saturn SC2. It's a decent all-around car, light and peppy, good on gas, but just doesn't make me happy to be sitting in it. I think it's mostly that it's so god-awful slow off the line that I can't stand driving it sometimes.

I've always been a fan of old Fords. My father had a bunch of 60s/70s/80s F150s. I've had both a 69 Fairlane (built) and 69 Torino (stock). My brother had an 80s Mustang. I was generally impressed with most of those vehicles, because for their time, they were as good as it got for the price. In came the late 80s and 90s models however, and I think that the Japanese sort of mopped the floor with the American car companies' offerings. Not only did they make good small front-drive cars, but they started to make rear and all-wheel drive sports cars and large cars that made big power without sacrificing efficiency or handling, and the price was right too. The Mustang was still okay, but it was terrible on fuel in comparison, and it didn't handle very well, at least not in stock form.

The 2005 Mustang GTs were a big leap forward, they had better handling and power, but they lacked efficiency, and the 4.0L option wasn't much better and a lot less powerful. In my opinion, the US hasn't really had an answer to that Japanese invasion until the 2011 V6 and 5.0 Mustang. This thing has everything I could ever want in a car except 4 doors and a big trunk. They are:
1. Rear Drive (with limited slip diff!)
2. Good to excellent out-of-the-box torque and power
3. Excellent handling with rigid chassis in stock form.
4. Reachable Price (still high enough that I can't get one quite yet though)
5. Great gas mileage (as good as my Saturn based on my rental experience, just unbelievable considering the power!)
6. Very practical as a daily driver without sacrificing performance.

That said, I'm really excited about this car, and I will soon own a 2011 or newer v6 Mustang. This thing rocks, enough so that even my cheap *** is willing to pony up the 20-25k it'll take to put one in my garage. I'm looking forward to owning one and discussing this amazing car with you all. Enjoy the rest of the weekend all!

Welcome!! Yeah! Ford really did things right with the new batch for sure. It's stunning to me that there is a V6 option now that can match or more than match even fairly recent GT's stock for stock and get amazing mileage when you're not playing. Good luck when you're ready to shop and welcome! Be warned many hours can disappear reading stuff here and daydreaming about what to do to your future ride
