Getting back in to the mustang game after a 6 year break, I found a 2003 mach 1 auto with 4k miles completey stock but the guy wants 16k firm and won't budge is this fair market value? I don't wanna over pay but I really want it.

Wow, thats a tough one because only 4k and untouched is impressive. If I had the means I don't think I would hesitate IMO.

Look the car over well.

I'd be curious to know how those 4000 miles were put on. Did they all get driven the first year then the car sat for 8 years? Or did the owner drive it 444 miles every year?

If it sat for a long time without being driven you may have some wiggle room to lower the price. An 8 year sleep could mean seals, hoses, belt, brakes etc may need to be redone.

+1 on this.
Maybe many of the miles are track miles and the car has been beat badly.
Look carefully at the underside in back, look for chunks of runner sticking everywhere. That would be a clue.

On the other hand, it may be really clean and a great buy, ya never know until you look it over real good.

Welcome to MF

15K is a reasonable offer.
Hopefully he'll accept; sounds like a great find!
Make sure you post plenty of pics of this cherry when you get her home.

Wow, nice find. Hopefully you can get it for 15k; if it is that pristine don't lose it for only 1k. BTW pics after you buy it is a must!!
