Old(er) New Guy from Texas - Howdy!!
Howdy all!!!!
Been around Mustangs in one form or another since the late 70's. My first Mustang was a 1969 Fastback (kicks self for selling it in the early 80's). Since then, it's been one purchase - mod - sell - purchase - mod - sell after another.
Drag raced for a decade and had a blast. Daily driven low 10 second car with A/C fit the bill for a while. But, then I took a ride with an instructor at an open track event @ Texas World Speedway. Needless to say, I was hooked. Sold the straight liner and went with a ride (2001 Cobra) that actually turns left & right! Of course it wasn't long before 'point-by's' just didn't do enough for me.
Onward to actual competition road racing was in order. Sold the Cobra and got into the Texas Region Camaro Mustang Challenge/NASA club. After five years of swapping paint (1988 Fox Coupe) and winning championships, it was time to call it. However, I do instruct at various open track events around the area though (free track time).
Finally found an awesome platform to daily drive and take to open track events. The '06 GT with a Vortech SC/Intercooled is da bomb (ok, not sure if people actually say 'da bomb' anymore)! A few mods to help whoa it down and suspension goodies to keep it planted in the corners.
Glad to be here and hopefully can share a few decades of learning to try and do things the right way.

Ha ha, loved the video. I liked how the sound of the Fart Box mufflers on the imports sounded scared when you closed in on them. Man, that little BMW was over steering like crazy to stay ahead of you, but quickly realized he better move over.
