Hello!!
Hi everyone, I joined this forum because I'll be looking for advice on what parts to get to have my 5.0 breathing and running nicely. I've worked on a lot of cars, honestly I own a Honda that I did (and wired) an obd2-obd1 sohc-dohc swap on with ecu conversion harness delete, and I own a 5 spd lexus sc300 that I bought for cheap with a bad clutch, and I have owned two saabs, one of which had a decent list of mods. I also worked in a small shop for a few months and was promoted to assistant manager, we did lots of work on chevy's, fords, dodges, and Toyotas, mostly transmission work, EFI, and diesel tune ups and diagnostics. I know what I'm doing with a carburetor, but only have a little experience, and have never even done a timing chain on a pushrod motor (have lots of DOHC timing experience). I just want to hear about things that I need to know from guys who know it better.
My 5.0 is going into a 1986 Mazda Rx7 with a T5 and a kit from www.grannysspeedshop.com, and yes, I'm one of those import/drift guys. My 5.0 is a '89 towncar 5.0 and currently the block and cam are stock but it has gt40 heads. I am going to run a carburetor and HEI/DUI for engine management. I come here for advice on what parts to buy that work together, I will ask more in appropriate threads.
