Question Decisions...Decisions

First off let me give you a little back ground info on me so you can try and understand the situation. I am 26 years old, married, and currently driving a 2007 Saturn Redline(supercharged). I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering and graduate with my MS in Systems Engineering in 3 weeks. I work as a Logistics Engineer. Ever since my buddy bought an 08 gt/cs I have been falling for mustangs. Always been a hater...BUT I have been converted. I will be in the market for a DD/fun project car in the coming months. I have been seriously considering the 08-09 gt/cs with a budget of $25k. Using it as a DD to make my short 7 mile commute. This has been my plan for quite some time now. But, my wife and I plan on having kids in the coming years(2ish). This has thrown a wrench in my car plans. At that point I think it might not be very fun pulling a car seat in and out of the mustang. So at that point I would need to buy another car as a family car. But, that would be costly! Recently I have been considering another option. Buying a family car now for 15kish and leave it in the garage mostly and only using it when necessary. Thinking maybe Jetta TDI, but that is beside the point. Leaving me 10kish to invest in a fun DD. I want something that is fun to drive, easy to work on, fairly cheap to mod, and capable for me to drive to work everyday. I don't think with my budget I can get into an 05-09 gt, which is my favorite body style, that isn't run into the ground. Maybe I am wrong in that thinking? What I have been thinking about is a later fox body notchback 5.0(not a conversion) . Hopefully something that hasn't been molested to much. Because I want to do all/most of the modding myself, its just something I enjoy. I have been doing some research and that might be a tall order. Could be availability issues with clean notchbacks? What are your thoughts on the options and ideas? Do you have other suggestions? All your input would be helpful!

Thanks in advance!!!

(to the mods..I am not 100% certain this is the correct place for this thread if not please relocate!)

Buy the mustang now and look for a inexpensive family car when the time comes. Live for the day because you'll never know what will happen in 2 years.....you could hit the lottery.

$25k will buy a 2011+ GT. Do that instead. I've been daily driving Mustangs since before my kids were born. They're 7 & 9 now. No problems with car seats and booster seats. If you want a Mustang, buy a Mustang.

I am still leaning towards getting a newer one or a 08-09 gt/cs. But, I wanted to see what everyone else thought about the other option. Now time to decide if I want to save some money and get an 08-09 gt/cs or spend a little more and get a 11-12..

By the Mustang and never look back. If you don't you'll wish you had every time you see one on the road.
