Cool New to Mustang Forums - exhasut question

Hello, I'm new on here. Bought a 2014 Mustang GT/CS last month. Absolutely love it. I had Flow Master Axle Back exhaust on my 2010, took them off when I got the new one. Strangely after installing my Steeda Cold Air Intake, Bama Tuner and the Exhaust (by Muffler Shop), it extremely loud with a lot of drone, especially inside the car. Can anyone give some insight as to why and what I can do to reduce this? Thanks for any responses! Thinking the compression of the engine might be causing this since 2010 was 4.6 V8 and 2014 is 5.0 V8 Coyote.

Also, my 2010 was a 5-speed manual, 2014 is an automatic...could this be why there is so much drone?

Can't explain the cause but drone is common with aftermarket exhaust on our cars. There are two that I know do not drone, Borla, Ford Racing (made by Borla) and Roush. I had Roush axlebacks on my 5.0 and Borlas on the Shelby. Both are great with no drone.

I don't know if you can fix a muffler that drones.

After playing around yesterday, one thing was definitely determined. When my husband would put the car in Select Shift the drone was greatly reduced to the same sound level as my 2010 which was a manual, this is likely why it is louder on my new one. I love the rumble so we put some foam padding in the truck which helped out with the interior being so loud! The muffler shop has a set of exhausts that came of a Roush, might just take her up there and test them out, will post the results. Thanks!

First of all Nice car,
I have a set of Borla ATAK's with header and off road x-pipe, This thing is loud as hell but NO droan at all. I went with the Borla set up due to the fact of reading all the posts here and all bitching about droan with most other exhausts. I have flomasters on my F250 and it has a bad droan. Would switch out but I don't drive the truck too much. My boss has Roush axel backs on his 5.0 and loves them, They also sound great, get em if you can
