New from California
Hello everyone,
I'm here to ask two things, I hope to truly be apart of this community soon. I'm currently driving a '99 Audi A6 Quattro w/130k miles on it, and it has unfortunately showed signs of wear over the years. The two biggest things being needing new suspension all around and the front and rear axle will need to be replaced soon. This was my first car and I was unfortunately not looking in the right places when purchasing it.
1) Can you guys convince me to invest in/buy a mustang? I'm interested in weekend racing for fun at first then moving towards more of a competition base in the future.
2) I'm looking at mustangs from 2005 and later, manual transmission, and a V8 engine. What should I look out for on a mustang? Rust? Weird sounds? Vibrations?
I have around $20k to spend, and I don't want to put most of it in replacement parts
Thank you for your time,

You are right to buy used. And for mods and upgrades mustang is the way to go because they are easy to work on and easy to get parts for. I bought a $45,000 roush for $24,000 when it was 3 years old and had only 16K miles on it. I've spent about $7K in upgrades, most of which has been appearance. It wins trophies at every carshow. With another 5K it will be beating Z06's. I love it.
