Default Newb from WA State

We just pulled my mother in laws 1965 fastback out of storage. 18 yrs of storage after being rode hard and used like a truck. She bought it new in '64.
It's a girls car. Automatic, but it's got the 289 2V.
Needs a lot of attention but it's all there.

I've been a GM fanatic all these years (40+) and this is really strange to me to be researching a Ford. I'll be reading a lot.
My wife will not sell this car!
We're still deciding what route to take; pure stock or restify.
We want it on the road by July 25th, so were only doing the necessities, then will get more serious this winter.
First thoughts are to the braking system. Car came with drums and single bowl master cylinder. Should we upgrade to discs and dual bowl master cylinder?

Welcome, congrats on getting that Mustang. Your choice for brakes or any fix is a tough one. Finding a original car like that is rare and keeping it all original would my choice, but then you have horrible brakes lol. Whatever your choice for modding, don't throw anything away. Good luck and keep us posted on your choices.

Thanks, The brake decision will be a tough one. And yes, all original parts will be stored.

Yeah I've been out that way before a few times. Especially out there in Enumclaw, home town of Casey Kane. Yeah I know my NASCAR is showing.
