The Old Man
Hi all,
I just decided to blow the dust off of my 93 Notchback. It's been pretty much sitting for about 15 years. I might be one of the longest standing owners of the same car here, I bought my 93 in 1996, when I was 19. I used to take it to the local cruise nights and car shows back then; middle aged guys who just spent a fortune buying back the cars they had when they were 19. Sure enough, one by one, all of my friends would sell their cars, get married, have kids. I kept mine.
A few weeks ago, I had to head to my old home town with one of my old Mustang buddies (the only other guy who still owns his original stang). Unbeknownst to me, it was cruise night and low and behold, there was one of the guys we used to hang out with...with a new to him old Mustang. At that point I decided to bring mine out of retirement.
The car itself is a 93 Notchback, Reef Blue. I bought it with 55k on the clock, she now has 88k. It was fast in its day, high 11's. It was truly a budget build, still has the stock block rotating assembly, iron heads, no power adders (she has some secrets). At one point about five years ago I dumped the stock seats and dropped in some from an 08 mustang.
Anyways, it looks like I've got a bit of work to do to get it faster than the current crop of factory machines.
