Default Exhaust

Hello I'm changing my exhaust on my 97 mustang gt. And don't know if I should go with the bbk catted x pipe or the o/r bbk h or x pipe. Which would I get more power from. If since the cats are monitored and if I went with the o/r I would need the elimators to get ride of the check engine light. But if I did the catted would I have to change the O2 sensors since they are high flow? Also the catted are $200 more so what would be the best setup and less of hassle. Thanks a lot

Welcome! As far as power do you have PI heads? If not that's where I would start. Exhuast on a 2V will not give you that much HP. Might wanna scroll down a bit and ask in the appropriate section. They'll give you the best advice. GL!

I do not have pi heads. I recently got the car and the owners before me just cut the mufflers off I don't want to go to crazy with the car just off to really give it an edge over others. It's chipped has throttle body and cold air intake. I'm also thinking about going with gears first? Any thoughts I wanna go with 4:10 but really nervous on how it will be with everyday driving. Thanks a lot for your time

Unless you do PI heads you're not gonna get a "edge over others." The choke point for the 96-98 GT's are the heads. I would most def look into going with gears and 410's are the way to go. Chk out the 4.6 section of MF. There's tons of folks over there that can guide you in the right direction.
