Default Reliability???????

Can anyone explain why the reliability rating or "used car verdict" on Consumer Reports is SOOOOOOOOOO bad for the 2011 thru 2014 V8 Stang??? The '05 thru '08 have the best attainable rating, it drops to average for 2010 then tanks by 2014. I have not heard, read or experienced any major issues w/ the newer Stangs, even the GT500. I am specifically inquiring about 2011 to 2014, not the 2015. Any input?????

Didn't realize the ratings were so bad.

I personally haven't heard bad things about them.

because the people who have problems are basically the only ones who complain. same reason when u search for anything on the web, all you find are people bitching on the first 3 pages of returns. i am a dealer tech, and we have no more issues with mustangs then we have with any other model. and fords total quality is fairly high overall.

If you look up any Doctor on the internet you would never go to them from all the bad write ups...

I think the poor Consumer Reports ratings are based on the issues with sync and the MT-82 on the later models. http://www.truedelta.com/car-reliability is another source of reliability data. Mostly it agrees with CR but it seems to weigh the severity of the problems differently.

I have to agree with WJ. I think Consumer Reports gives too much weight to complaints like "It took 3 tries to get my cell phone to interface with sync" or "The Nav didn't pin point the pot hole that I busted my rim on". I'm interested in REPAIR cost expectations or actual necessary repairs down the road. The MT-82 is a concern since I'm actually shopping for a 2012 GT500, but those issues seem to be more of the "ease of use" or "under extreme conditions" variety and they seem to have improved by 2012. Thank goodness the clutch issues in the Shelby seem to have finally been sorted out. I've run across the "True Delta" site before but thanks for reminding me about it, it's on my "favorites" list now. Thanks for the input guys!!!

Doesn't the GT500 use a different transmission anyway?
