Default Piggy Back software & tuning

I know that a complete stand alone replacement is probably the best way to go. Is anyone running a Piggy back type system in here? I got a 89GT 5.0 5SP I'm thinking of going with the compcams 35-522-8 with the XE 282 HR grind." That gives 232/240 degrees of duration at 0.050 inch, 0.565/0.574 inch of lift, on 112 degrees of lobe. I'm going to do screw in studs and up the injectors and Maf the usual stuff. Has anyone had any luck running this set up with stock computer? It has air and I'm planning to keep it. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the forum.

This type of topic should go with n the Tech Section for future reference, it just keeps the forum a little more organized for future users. Anyhow, I'm running an older style Anderson PMS in my car. I've got just about every bolt on mod for a Foxbody, with heavily worked over stock heads, and some secrets I can't discuss. And honestly, the stock computer adapted very well to all mods itself. My AFR is spot on in all driving conditions, and runs and drives like a stocker, except for the lumpy idle. The only thing I've used my PMS for was to clean up my idle a touch and smooth it out.

What is your complete mid list ?

Hey man thanks for the reply. First let say I like the notch better I don't see as many so my guess is they made less of them. Nice looking ride. I'm still thinking about what combo I want to build. I spent money like water at Christmas still paying it off. So now I'm selling some things to generate money for the GT, I sell stuff year round anyways. I would like to do a build and keep the GT40s with good port job and screw in studs. Also considering a 393 or 408 build but would need bigger, better heads. 410s, K&N set up, adjustable fuel pressure regulator,2 SP Dorman cooling fan, Larger MAF & injectors, a good set of long tubes with 3'' X pipe. I need you to look and listen to these youtube links
and tell me what you think this noise is. I tore the top end apart and the lifters are good I think it is the distributor gear, it was real hard to turn by hand. If I would have pulled it first I would have known.

I know the gear is wobbling on the shaft I took it a part and it's just tapped back on so I could turn it while taking the video.
