Default 66 starter problem

Hi guys,
Im new at this but my 66 mustang 4 spd had starter problems. I looked under at it and the Masterpower XS starter was coming apart. I bought a new one and replaced it and now it wont start. It had the big wire from the battery to the starter and a small wire to the ignition screw on the starter.
I just removed and reinstalled the same one as the old one was. Im not sure why I don't get anything no clicking or anything when I turn it over.
Any help please
Phil

First thing I'd do is verify your getting power to the starter. It sounds like your not, but just check to help narrow it down.

Is the wiring/cables in good shape and all connections clean and tight ?

Is the tranny all the way in Park, or neutral if manual ?
