Fuel filter problem
I'm a new member and have no idea where to post besides here anyway here's my question. I have an 01 mustang v6 with approximately 170k I changed the fuel filter within the last year and my fuel pump went out recently and I went to take off my fuel filter just to change it again and noticed it was bent on the left side as if the nipple was pushed in some how, I was just curious if this some hoe cause the pump to go out.
Welcome to the forum.
A picture might help us here, but anythng that may restrict flow will not help a fuel pump. It has to work harder to push the fuel thru, which causes the pump to run hotter and burn itself out.
And just a FYI, this would go in the Tech section. Just have a look around in there and you'll find a good spot.

Wow, and that happened while it was on the car ? I've never seen that before, looks like someone was hanging from the fuel line lol.
But it doesn't look like it crimped enough to block flow so I'd think your fuel pump was just plain old used up.

I went to the gas station went inside maybe 5 minutes and came back out car wouldn't start had to tow it home and checked the pump noticed it wasn't turning on so when I dropped the tank noticed it was like that thought it was just crazy, a friend of mine thought maybe a rock hit it lol. Just thought I'd ask around.
