Default Distributor problems

Ok so I removed the distributor & spark plug wires because i needed to get to something under it thats irrelevant now & i fixed it. But when i put the distributor back on and reattached the spark plug wires and turned it on, it started running funny like it was misfiring. I have a manual & i know the firing order is 1-4-2-5-3-6 but im not sure if thats the order i should reattach the spark plug wires to the distributor or if theres another way im supposed to hook the spark plugs back up. I have a 98 ford mustang 3.8 V6.

It sounds like you're one tooth off on the dizzy. Are you sure you stabbed it correctly ? Was the motor rotated at all when the dizzy was out ? You'll need to find TDC on #1 cyl. and verify by timing marks on balancer and rotor should be pointing at #1 wire on cap.

This is assuming the wire routing is correct. It seems like the simplest thing to do, but I've done it more than once when changing wires. I've screwed the order even when doing them one at a time somehow lol.

Good luck
