Default Need Help With This Part in The Transmission.

Hey guys,

I need some assistance with my automatic stock transmission in my 2005 mustang.
The padding or whatever it's called that follows behind when you're putting it into drive or manually in a gear. It lags behind and shows this hole inside the transmission.

I tried looking inside the transmission to see if I could pull that "pad" forward manually but it seems to want to pull itself back. This picture shows what it should look like.

Thanks to anyone who helps me out.

Welcome to the forum.

Sorry I can't help but if I were you, I'd start a new thread in the appropriate Tech section, there's one specific to your year Mustang and they'll help you out in there.

Good luck

There is a thread about this in the S197 section. Unfortunately I think that the only permanent repair is to replace the shifter once that piece breaks.
