fuel help
i just bought my first mustang. 1999 v8 4.6 GT. i got a great deal cause it wont start, it turns over very good , when i turn the key on i cant here the fuel pump running. is there a way to add gas some were on engine so i can see if it starts?
Have you scanned it for codes? You can rent a scanner from Autozone. That would be the first step. The results from that would be the next step...when I buy none running cars I usually squirt a little starting fluid in the intake to see if it fires even for a second...
If dead-ended, run two wires to fuel pump from battery, see if pump runs when supplied 12 volt power. You can spray a bit of Starting Fluid directly into the air intake at the air filter; if engine fires, runs a second or two, ignition is functioning.
