Default Engine code help

Hey, new to this forum,so forgive a repetitive question if it happens. I've got an engine block number on a 1966 v8. At first I thought 302,now I'm leaning towards 289. It's not the original motor obviously. The vin indicates it had 351w from New Jersey Plant. The first 4 digits are C6AF. It should be stamped C6AE. Its not. The final 4 digits are C015, or G

Default Block stamp

Does anyone know how to decode this number? Or a site that does? I've tried a few,but get mixed results. Thanks

How about posting in the correct section of forum, and not the NEW MEMBER area...

YOU can search yahoo or google for the engine code, for a chart or listing.

It like you,had no useful information to offer. Turns out it's an early 351w. Got that info from an actual expert. So much for google
