Back in 2007, my great aunt purchased a Torch Red V6 Premium Pony Package off the showroom floor. For 13 years, it’s been a weekend cruiser/grocery getter. Living in northern Indiana, “Lil Red” has never seen a single snowflake, or even harsh rain. That being said, it’s been kept in very great shape showing 0 rust and has been maintained perfectly. A respectable 82k miles on the odometer. Every service record and receipt has been kept in the glovebox to verify its condition. There aren’t many mustangs in the condition that this one is in (to my understanding)
This past January, she decided it was finally time to part ways with it in order to make room for a new SUV in her garage. Instead of trading it in, she gifted me the car in hopes of a longer life and deeper appreciation. The first week of January, she signed the car over to me and that’s when my already prior interest in cars exploded into a new found hobby.
Now a bit of my background, I’m 21, and reside in Northwest Indiana. At 17, my first car was a used 2000 Accord that now has nearly 200k on it. I’ve always had a interest in cars of all sorts, whether it be restored muscle cars or brand new super cars. I never really cared too much about the mechanical aspect of vehicles, only how they looked on the outside and how fast they went. But that all changed when I was given the opportunity to own a Mustang..
For the past 2 months, my new to me Mustang has been the only thing on my mind. I drive it as much as possible to and from work and to run errands with. The experience with this car has been breathtaking day in and day out. I’m constantly researching everything there is to know about it, from the cars components, to how it drives compared to the little Honda I’ve driven for 4.5 years now. It being a V6, and having a lot of sentimental value, it will be a car that I plan on owning and learning with for as long as I can. Anything done to the car will be done with the utmost respect, and be completed with my hands (given my capabilities).
With that said, I am really looking forward to joining the car community with a beautiful new to me Mustang. Any questions you may all have, feel free to drop them below. I will be getting pictures of the car up as soon as possible!
