Default 2000 V6 Exhaust Mod

My factory Y-pipe started to come apart. On the passenger side right before the first cat the weld broke off so my car is running like open headers. i have an offload Y-pipe to replace it with, but i do not want to throw any codes or put my car into danger by deleting the cats without a tune for the cat delete. To my understanding the stock Y-pipe has four cats on a 2000 V6 mustang. I want the car to be louder, but still maintain its DD capabilities. Can anyone help me with what i can do. I have access to a lift and can weld anything together.

I wish I could be more help here as their arnt too many people still enjoying the 3.8/.9 NewEdge stangs...but unfortunately the problem you have from what I understand is you want to maintain the factory setup but install an off-road Y-pipe? This would be impossible unless you welded new cats BEFORE the off-road Y-pipe but that would negate the pipe in the first place and cost you more time/money.

Frenchy Im sorry I misunderstood the question in my first response, I think the best thing to do would be to get a catted X-pipe or H-pipe and weld the exhaust from the exits of those points back making basically a straight piped system, America muscle sells these exhaust setups. But if your on a budget I would say your only bet would be to weld your own straight piped directly back from the single exit Y-pipe, at some point along the way turning splitting that into a dual exhaust.this is basically what I did when I had a 3.8 but mine was a kit and I also deleted the cats...
