Hi,
My name is Ray and I just got a 2005 Mustang over the weekend. I actually got the car because I'm not a fan of Mustangs. However, rather than just accepting my predispositions, I wanted to experience one for myself. So far, it's been a really legit car and a legit community. We all know about the Mustang and crowd joke but people actually embrace it here and can laugh at themselves. I also saw one post on a Facebook group about some Civics drag racing and there was no hate. A couple of them even agreed that the tracked out Civics are indeed faster than them and they're okay with it. This is a lot more than what I can say about most other car communities. So I think I made the right decision about buying the car and joining this community.
Just to give you a picture of what I liked, I used to own three AE86 Corolla's, two 240sx, WRX, VW Rabbit, Mark II VW GTi, Lexus SC300, and several others. So the Mustang is a slight departure. By no means, I'm technically savvy so I'll probably be doing a lot of searches and asking a lot of stupid questions.
From my couple of days with the car, I found some interesting things. First, it's difficult to fill up gas when it keeps thinking the tank is full. There is no trunk release button in the cabin, which I think was an odd decision. I read that there can be a spark plug removal issue but I don't know how prevalent that is. And lastly, so far I've been only using metric when replacing the ebrake cable and doing the oil change. I always assumed American cars use standard for everything.
Thanks again for letting me in!
